Project: SeaTac Airport Restaurant

Architect: Upward Architecture & Interiors

Location: SeaTac Airport, Seattle

Status: Unbuilt

In collaboration with JDDA Food Services, Upward Architecture developed a proposal for Wasabi Sushi & Izakaya's installation at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Drawing inspiration from Wasabi's Belltown location, the design features a  cherry blossom installation suspended above the bar, a centerpiece that establishes the restaurant's identity while informing a material palette of chartreuse green and natural finishes.

The storefront immediately engages travelers, ushering them toward a flexible dining experience. The open counter showcases the kitchen, allowing guests to watch their meal being prepared fresh to order. The space accommodates both quick service and lingering: takeout customers order at the counter, while diners can settle into the adjacent bar, order from the same menu, and pair their food with craft cocktails.

Veronica's contributions to the design proposal included rendered floor plans and perspective drawings for the proposal presentation.
