Project: Yavapai Cabin

Architect: Upward Architecture & Interiors

Location: Walker, Arizona

Status: In Construction

Yavapai Cabin is located in the mountainous forest of Yavapai County, Arizona. The compact cabin is designed for spatial efficiency, eliminating excess circulation to prioritize usable living areas. A large central great room organizes the plan and serves as the primary gathering space, supporting an indoor-outdoor way of living within the forest setting. A simple shed roof directs views from all rooms toward the surrounding Yavapai landscape, emphasizing long, uninterrupted sightlines to the mountains and forest canopy.

Veronica contributed primarily during schematic design, focusing on building siting and development of floor plans. She also supported design detailing, including wall assemblies and window layouts. In addition, she produced presentation drawings, including renderings and diagrams used to communicate the design.
